Martial Arts for Kids Calgary | Boys Martial Arts | Girls Martial Arts

SGMA has the program that teaches martial arts for kids Calgary is looking for.  Our students learn in one of the most technical programs in Canada. Since we have one of the highest instructor-to-student ratio in the world (8 students per instructor) we are able to successfully teach our young children advanced martial arts techniques other schools just cannot match. Our students are able learn advanced kicks, strikes, blocks and self-defense because we have the instructors who can spend the time with the students.

We have several different programs teaching martial arts for kids.

Regular Martial Arts for Kids Calgary Program

Our Regular Program offers one of the best technical programs in the country. We are NOT a push-up and sit-up school and we do not spend the whole class working on forms. The majority of our training is actual martial arts. That means we get in great shape doing kicks, punches, blocks, etc. Our progressive curriculum allows our students to develop in a logical and systematic manner. For example at the White Belt level (the first level) students will learn a front kick and a roundhouse kick. At the Yellow Stripe Level (the second level) students then learn a jumping front kick and a double roundhouse kick. Students attend two 1 hour classes per week. Any student who attends regularly can achieve a real Black Belt in 2-4 years of training.

Advanced Martial Arts for Kids Calgary Program

Our Advanced Children’s Program (ACP) allows our students to train up to 5 days/week. ACP students advance a lot quicker up the color belts and often become instructors or competitors. The program also very good for weight loss and overall fitness as they train up to 2½ times more per week than the regular students. We do advise students to wait until at least Yellow belt (4-6 months of training in the regular program) before moving up to the ACP.

Certification

All students get formal certification which each new belt. Color Belts are certified in accordance with the Alberta Taekwondo Association and the Canadian Taekwondo Association. All Black Belts also get formal certification from the World Taekwondo Federation in Seoul, Korea. This means no matter what belt level a student achieves at Studios Group Martial Arts, they will always keep that rank no matter where in the world they train.
